The United States has announced a 36‑player roster for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Selection Camp, set to take place in St. Paul, Minnesota. The camp serves as the final evaluation stage for athletes hoping to earn a place on the U.S. Under‑18 Men’s Select Team that will compete in the 2026 tournament in Edmonton, Alberta.
Team USA enters the competition as the defending 2025 champions, facing off against seven other nations — Canada, Czechia, Finland, Germany, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland — in a bid to retain the title.
Coaching Leadership
Reid Cashman, the head coach of the U.S. Under‑18 Men’s Select Team, will oversee the camp, bringing his strategic vision to a roster that blends emerging talent with experienced prospects.
The coaching staff is anchored by Cashman, with assistants Todd Knott, Greg Rallo and Troy Thibodeau joining him on the bench. Goaltending coach Alex Westlund rounds out the instructional team, while general manager Marc Boxer provides oversight of player development and roster decisions.
Beyond the coaches, the camp will be supported by a full complement of professionals, including equipment managers, athletic trainers, team physicians, team managers and communications coordinators, all working to ensure a seamless preparation for the upcoming international event.
The selected 23‑player squad will travel to Edmonton for the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where they will attempt to repeat their 2025 championship performance against a field that includes some of the world’s top junior hockey nations.
