Houston is gearing up to become a focal point of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the city’s Host Committee arranging a series of exclusive meet‑and‑greet sessions that will bring U.S. soccer legends to the FIFA Fan Festival.
The festival, which will run throughout the tournament, combines live match broadcasts with interactive activations and a lineup of entertainment options designed to immerse supporters in the tournament atmosphere.
Organizers say the events are meant to celebrate the growth of soccer in the United States and to give supporters a chance to connect directly with the players who have shaped the nation’s recent successes.
Legendary Encounters
Among the confirmed guests are Clint Dempsey, Cobi Jones and DaMarcus Beasley, each of whom left an indelible mark on the U.S. Men’s National Team.
Dempsey, who netted 57 goals for the senior side, is widely regarded as one of the country’s greatest ever players, while Jones holds the record for most caps with 164 appearances. Beasley will also be present, having become the first American man to feature in four World Cup editions.
The festival’s programming will also showcase other notable figures from the U.S. squad, including Jozy Altidore, Brian McBride, Tony Meola, Geoff Cameron and Brek Shea, each of whom contributed to the team’s historic runs.
In addition to the player appearances, Houston will host seven matches at the newly built Houston Stadium, further cementing the city’s role as a key venue for the global tournament.
