The latest edition of The Circuit’s rankings has highlighted a cluster of high school basketball prospects competing in the Under Armour Association, a league that has become a proving ground for future college stars. The second spring session produced a wave of standout performances that caught the attention of recruiters across the country.
Emerging Talent in the UAA
Among the prospects drawing particular notice are four athletes who have aligned themselves with Syracuse’s watch list: Munir Greig, Declan Griffiths, Payton Jones and Godson Okokoh. Greig and Griffiths earned third‑team All‑UAA honors, with Griffiths also receiving a spot on the All‑Defensive squad. Greig, a 2027 wing, posted a line of 10.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while Griffiths, also a 2027 wing, contributed 10.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.5 blocks per contest.
Payton Jones, a 2027 four‑star point guard, proved to be a scoring engine, averaging 20.3 points while adding 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Godson Okokoh, a 2027 forward, delivered 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, earning an honorable mention on the All‑UAA session two list.
A Five‑Star Prospect on the Radar
Tai Bell, a 2028 five‑star point guard who played up a division, posted 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. His performances secured him a place on the All‑UAA session two third team and the All‑Underclass squad. Bell also held a scholarship offer from the former Syracuse staff and made an unofficial visit to the campus earlier this year, underscoring the Orange’s intent to stay in close contact.
Syracuse’s Active Pursuit
Syracuse basketball is actively courting these 4‑star recruits, viewing them as key pieces in the next wave of talent for the program. The Orange’s recruiting strategy emphasizes early engagement, campus visits and scholarship offers, aiming to secure commitments before the players reach the traditional college decision timeline.
