UC San Diego baseball etched a historic moment at Anteater Ballpark in Irvine, California, as the Tritons posted a 5-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton in the Big West Championship, delivering the program's first-ever Division I postseason win.
Right-hander Nic Gregson anchored the effort, logging seven strong innings that yielded just six hits and one earned run while striking out four batters. He was followed by Devon King, who shut the door with two scoreless frames and two more strikeouts, preserving the lead.
The offense struck early, with Gabe Camacho delivering a single in the third inning that sparked the rally. Camacho later added three hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Nathaniel Widelski contributed a double that plated two runs, while Anthony Potestio and Addison Klepsch each recorded doubles to keep the pressure on.
