Rising Stars Converge for Hall Star Summer
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame’s annual ‘Hall Star Summer’ series is turning its spotlight on the next generation of talent, inviting fans to rub shoulders with the sport’s most promising prospects.
UConn’s men’s basketball program will be represented by point guard Silas Demary Jr., a 6‑foot‑4 returning star who is expected to anchor the 2026 roster. Known for his court vision and clutch performances, Demary brings a blend of experience and youthful energy that has already captured the attention of coaches and analysts.
Joining him will be freshman forward Colben Landrew, a 6‑7 recruit from Georgia who arrived on campus as a five‑star prospect. Landrew’s combination of size, shooting range and defensive versatility made him a coveted addition to the Huskies’ lineup.
The event also welcomes Olivia Vukosa, a 6‑5 forward from Christ the King High in New York. The incoming freshman was crowned the Gatorade National Player of the Year, a testament to her dominant high‑school career and the expectations placed on her as the No. 2 recruit in her class.
Fan‑Focused Sessions Schedule
Fans will have two dedicated opportunities to meet the UConn trio. On Sunday, August 24, at noon, Demary and Landrew will host a Hoophall Hangout, offering a casual meet‑and‑greet and Q&A session. The following day, Monday, August 24, at 1 p.m., Vukosa will take the stage for her own fan interaction, sharing insights into her preparation for college basketball.
These gatherings are part of a broader initiative by the Hall of Fame to deepen the connection between basketball enthusiasts and emerging stars. By placing players in intimate settings, the organization hopes to create lasting memories and inspire the next wave of fans.
A Summer of Engagement
Beyond the Hoophall Hangout, the Hall Star Summer program features a lineup of appearances, clinics and behind‑the‑scenes experiences designed to showcase the personalities and work ethic of rising athletes. The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, under the leadership of President John L. Doleva, emphasizes that these interactions are essential to the sport’s growth and community outreach.
For those unable to attend in person, the events will be streamed online, ensuring that supporters across the country can participate in the celebration of basketball’s bright future.
