Gauchos Advance to Austin Regional Final
UCSB Baseball clinched a 9-5 victory over Tarleton State in the Austin Regional, setting up a showdown with Texas that could send the team to the Super Regional.
The win extends Tarleton State’s season to a 38-21 record, marking their first appearance in an NCAA Division I Regional.

Rowan Kelly drove in four runs, while Cole Kosciusko went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and a home run. William Vasseur added three hits and two runs, contributing to a potent early offense.
UCSB struck first, plating two runs in the opening inning before a back-to-back homer combo from Kosciusko and Noah Karliner in the second.
Tarleton State rallied in the seventh when Slade McCloud delivered a two-run triple, but the Gauchos answered in the eighth as Kelly launched a three-run homer to pull ahead.
With the series tied, the Gauchos now need two wins over Texas, scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. PST, to secure a Super Regional berth.
