A Fresh Face for the Wildcats
Arizona’s men’s basketball program has added Ugnius Jarusevicius, a 6‑foot‑11 forward whose college journey has taken him from Central Michigan to Nebraska and now to Tucson.
At Central Michigan he posted averages of 16.2 points and 7.3 rebounds, showcasing a blend of size and skill that caught the eye of the Wildcats.
A Setback in Nebraska
Jarusevicius’ time at Nebraska was cut short by injury; he appeared in only one game before being ruled out for the remainder of the season, a disappointment that left him eager for a fresh start.
Despite the setback, he remains focused on contributing rebounding power and a low‑post attack to Arizona’s lineup, aiming to help the team rebound from recent challenges.
Motivation to Finish Strong
Having also experienced stints at Cal State Bakersfield, Jarusevicius is determined to close his collegiate career on a high note, bringing the lessons learned across multiple programs to the Pac‑12 stage.
Coach Tommy Lloyd and the coaching staff see his experience and work ethic as valuable assets as the Wildcats look to build on their recent successes.
The addition of Jarusevicius is part of a broader strategy that includes developing younger talent such as Jaden Bradley, Koa Peat and Motiejus Krivas, while veterans like Brayden Burries and Chris Hummer provide depth.
The move underscores Arizona’s intent to blend size, skill and resilience as they prepare for the upcoming season, with fans eager to see how the new forward will impact the team’s dynamics.
