Ulster County is set to host its first ever Future Stars Unity Cup on June 6 at the iconic Field of Dreams in New Paltz, blending youth soccer competition with a vibrant cultural fair.
The free, family‑friendly tournament will feature four age divisions — under‑8, under‑10, under‑12 and under‑18 — and invites participants to register in advance at ulstercountyny.gov/FutureStarsCup.
A Festival of Heritage and Community
Beyond the matches, the event will transform the venue into a cultural hub, showcasing local heritage projects, food vendors, and a variety of activities designed for all ages.
The initiative, branded “One Life Only,” is sponsored by Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel Nneji, whose office has partnered with the United Way of Ulster County to channel all proceeds toward the nonprofit’s programs.
County Executive Jen Metzger emphasized that the Unity Cup embodies a celebration of cultural diversity, stating that the event “highlights the rich tapestry of our community and unites residents through sport and shared traditions.”
Organizers hope the combination of athletic competition and cultural exchange will foster lasting connections among families across the region, while also generating vital support for United Way’s community services.
