A demanding road ahead
UMass Lowell announced its 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule earlier this week, outlining a non‑conference slate that blends regional rivals with nationally recognized programs.
The River Hawks will travel to face Cincinnati, Georgetown and Boston College as part of a seven‑game road stretch, while also hosting matches against Rivier, Merrimack, Marist, St. Peter’s and Sacred Heart.
Conference action begins in January with a home‑and‑home format against every America East opponent, starting with New Hampshire and concluding with a showdown against Vermont in late February.
Head coach Dan Duquette highlighted the value of testing the team against strong competition early in the season, noting that games versus Boston College, Georgetown, Cincinnati and UMass will be pivotal for building momentum.
With the top eight teams in the America East advancing to the tournament in March, the River Hawks are positioning themselves to turn early challenges into a realistic playoff push.
