UMBC’s men’s soccer program is gearing up for the 2026 campaign, and head coach Anthony Adams has announced the individuals who will wear the captain’s armband.
Adamo Pantaleo, a junior defender from Ontario, brings three years of consistent performance and a key role in the team’s defensive solidity from the previous season.
Pantaleo started 14 of the 17 matches in 2025, helping the Retrievers record five clean sheets, and his presence will anchor the back line.
Joining him is Tancredi Fadda, an Italian midfielder who transferred from Evansville and made an immediate impact with 16 starts and four goals in his debut season.
Fadda’s technical skill set and composure under pressure were highlighted during the spring campaign, earning him the respect of teammates and staff alike.
Leadership Outlook
Coach Adams emphasized that the duo’s blend of experience and fresh perspective is intended to foster a competitive yet cohesive environment as the squad aims for a strong season.
Both captains have already begun shaping training sessions and mentoring younger players, signaling a proactive approach to team dynamics.
The announcement comes as the Retrievers look to build on recent progress and contend within their conference, with the leadership group expected to guide the team through a demanding schedule.
