Record Crowd at Retriever Soccer Park
The UMBC women's soccer team played to a 2‑2 stalemate against West Chester on Tuesday, preserving the Retrievers' unbeaten streak in front of a record crowd of 2,800 fans at Retriever Soccer Park.
Senior defender Regan Rubin opened the scoring just 2 minutes and 6 seconds into the match, striking from a free kick that caught the opposition off guard and put UMBC ahead early.
West Chester answered seven minutes later when Adriana Ryder capitalized on a deep service from Lauren Reimold, leveling the game and shifting momentum.
Penalty Precision and a Swift Sequence
The Retrievers regained the lead through a penalty conversion by sophomore midfielder Zoe Brossman, who finished after a pinpoint pass from senior defender Reagan Casper; the chance was set up by a quick sequence that included Payton Foster.
UMBC dominated possession in the attacking third, finishing with an 18‑10 edge in shots, and the team's intensity grew in the second half, where they outshot West Chester 11‑4.
Looking ahead, UMBC will host St. John's on Thursday evening, aiming to build on the momentum generated by the draw and continue their unbeaten run.
