Celebrating a Quarter Century of Excellence
The University of Missouri–Kansas City’s men’s soccer program is gearing up to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its 2001 Mid‑Continent Conference title, a milestone that will be marked by a special alumni weekend on August 19‑20, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri.
The two‑day celebration will bring together former players, coaching staff and fans for a dinner, a guided tour of the soccer facilities, a formal recognition ceremony, a commemorative match and a relaxed social gathering, giving alumni a chance to reconnect and reflect on shared memories.
Coach Rick Benben, who led the historic 2001 squad, will be highlighted for his leadership and lasting influence on the program, with the university planning a special tribute during the ceremony.
In addition to the tribute, complimentary tickets will be offered to alumni and their families for the match, underscoring the event’s goal of strengthening the UMKC men’s soccer alumni network and encouraging new connections.
