2026‑27 schedule unveiled
North Carolina has released its complete 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule, confirming an 18‑game ACC slate that splits evenly between home and road venues.
The Tar Heels will host Cal, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State, SMU, Stanford and Virginia, while traveling to Boston College, Florida State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
A notable highlight is the double‑header against Duke and Louisville, each of which will be played on both home and away floors, adding marquee matchups to the calendar.
Clemson drops out of the conference schedule, and UNC will meet NC State only once, marking the second straight season that the rivalry is limited to a single contest.
Outside the ACC, the non‑conference slate includes Western Carolina, Wofford, Wyoming, Georgia, Marshall, Georgetown, Kentucky and The Citadel, providing a varied early‑season test.
A three‑week pause in November creates an opening for a Thanksgiving‑week event, and UNC will begin a home‑and‑home series with Butler in either November or December 2026, with the first meeting slated for that window.
Looking ahead
The still‑undetermined ACC‑SEC Challenge opponent leaves a slot that could influence the team’s résumé as the season progresses, while the balanced conference schedule sets the stage for a competitive campaign.
