A New Chapter for Maryland Basketball
Under Armour announced the 410 Invitational, a first-of-its-kind college basketball tournament that will showcase the best of Maryland’s mid-major programs. The event, scheduled to begin on November 12, 2026, brings together Loyola University Maryland, Morgan State University, Towson University and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in a rotating schedule that alternates between men’s and women’s competitions each year.
The tournament’s structure is designed to give each school a chance to host the championship in successive years, beginning with Towson University in 2026. Opening-round matchups will pit Loyola against Towson and Morgan State against UMBC, with additional pairings announced as the schedule progresses. Games will be split across Thursday and Friday, with the championship and consolation contests streamed live on the Monumental Sports Network.
Beyond the Game: A Community Celebration
Organizers say the 410 Invitational is about more than basketball. Programming at Under Armour’s global headquarters in Baltimore will include workshops for student-athletes, coaching clinics and panel discussions that highlight academic excellence and community engagement. The initiative aims to create a holistic experience that celebrates the region’s rich basketball culture.
A media day on October 28, 2026, will give journalists and fans an early look at the participating teams, athletic directors and coaches. Attendees can expect interviews, behind-the-scenes tours and insights into how the tournament will impact recruiting and campus life.
Ticket information varies by venue. Opening-round tickets will be sold through each school’s athletic department websites, while Towson Athletics will manage sales for the championship and consolation games. Early-bird pricing and student discounts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
