The University of Northern Iowa Panthers have unveiled a six‑player signing that reshapes the outlook for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball campaign.
The new roster blends proven Division I talent, an overseas prospect, and a hometown star, signaling a strategic push to compete at a higher level.
Division I Transfers Bring Experience
Among the newcomers, Tate McCubbin arrives from Austin Peay, where he posted 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season, while Greyson Uelmen brings a redshirt freshman campaign at North Dakota that saw him average 16.8 points per game. Ian Smikle, who contributed 4.2 points and 4.5 rebounds at Tulsa, and Carson Vis, a Western Michigan alum with 5.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game, round out the group.
International addition Jule Isebaert, a Belgian guard, averaged 3.8 points per game in the BNXT League, adding a European dimension to the squad.
Local favorite Jayden Kimbrough, who capped his senior year at Cedar Falls High School with 19 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game, will look to energize the fan base.
