Unico’s 75th All‑Star Football Game Celebrates Legacy with Notable Guests and Awards

The anniversary event moves to Wilkes‑Barre Area High School, featuring a distinguished speaker and a host of festivities.

A Milestone Celebration

Unico is marking the 75th edition of its celebrated all‑star football showcase, a tradition that has brought together the finest high school talent from the Wyoming Valley Conference for decades.

This year’s contest will be held at Wilkes‑Barre Area High School, a venue chosen to accommodate the milestone celebration, and will be highlighted by a dinner at the Mohegan Pennsylvania Casino where players and guests will gather for an evening of food and camaraderie.

Organizers Bill Anzalone and Jamie Anzalone have curated a program that includes a banquet honoring the athletes, the Miss Unico court and the Brian Piccolo Award, while also inviting every head coach from the conference to attend.

The evening will also recognize track star Marc Anthony Minichello with the Sponsors Award and will feature appearances by former WVC standouts Rocket Ismail, Qadry Ismail, Greg Skrepenak and Bo Orlando, adding a nostalgic flavor to the festivities.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, a Dunmore native, will receive the Man of the Year award and serve as the event’s featured speaker, bringing his perspective from the NFL to the high school stage.

Beyond the awards, the celebration will offer food trucks, a bounce house, slides and a performance by the Wilkes‑Barre Area marching band, promising entertainment for families and fans alike.
