Union II Suffers 4-0 Shutout at Chattanooga FC

A disappointing performance drops the young side further behind in the playoff race

Philadelphia Union II traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where they faced Chattanooga FC in a MLS NEXT Pro showdown that ended in a 4-0 defeat.

The visitors fell behind early, as Ameziane Sid Mohano opened the scoring in the 12th minute, giving the home side a quick advantage.

Union II, whose squad averages just 19.1 years of age, struggled to break down Chattanooga’s organized defense, and despite intermittent pressure they were unable to find a response before halftime.

After the break, head coach Chris Harmon made several substitutions in an attempt to spark a comeback, but the effort fell short as Nathan Kohler, Damien Barker‑John and Daniel Mangarov added three more goals in the second half.

Goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook did manage to save a penalty in the 82nd minute, but the damage had already been done, leaving Union II without a goal in three consecutive matches.

Standings and Outlook

The loss dropped Union II to eleventh place in the Eastern Conference with 26 points from 19 games, while Chattanooga moved to fifth with 34 points, underscoring the gap between the sides. Looking ahead, Union II will host NYC II in their next outing, a match they hope to use to break the scoring drought and keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
