Rainbow Wahine gear up for a busy 2026 campaign
The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team has released its 2026 schedule, a slate that blends home‑field advantage with a series of high‑profile non‑conference tournaments. All matches before the Mountain West Conference season are slated for the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium on O'ahu, giving the Rainbow Wahine a familiar backdrop for their early contests.
The regular season opens on August 13 with a showdown against Texas Tech, and the following weekend the team will host Kansas State before closing the opening stretch with a game against Western Michigan on August 20 and Idaho on August 22 as part of the OUTRIGGER Invitational. An additional exhibition against Hawai'i Pacific is set for August 29, while a separate matchup with New Mexico State arrives on September 3 and Washington State on September 6.
Exhibition matches and early tournaments
Before the league campaign begins, the Wahine will travel to Maui for an exhibition against Seattle University in Pukalani on August 9, and later host an Alumni Match on September 19. The pre‑conference schedule also includes three OUTRIGGER‑branded tournaments — the OUTRIGGER Soccer Kickoff, the OUTRIGGER Invitational, and the OUTRIGGER No Ka Oi — which will punctuate the early months with competitive fixtures against a variety of opponents.
The non‑conference slate wraps up in early September with the OUTRIGGER No Ka Oi, after which the team will face New Mexico State on September 3 and Washington State on September 6. These games provide a final tune‑up before the Rainbow Wahine embark on their inaugural Mountain West schedule.
Mountain West debut and road trip
The Rainbow Wahine will open their Mountain West campaign on the road, beginning with matches against Colorado College on September 24 and Air Force on September 27. After a series of away fixtures at San Jose State, UC Davis, and Grand Canyon, the team will return to Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium on October 7 to host Nevada in its first-ever home conference match.
A three‑match homestand against Grand Canyon, UNLV and New Mexico follows in late October, culminating in the regular‑season finale on the road at Wyoming on November 7. The schedule reflects a blend of regional rivalries and travel opportunities as the program looks to build momentum heading into conference play.
