University of New Hampshire Secures Commitment from Freshman Forward Augie Hoelscher

Wyoming native brings Spanish experience and high school record to Wildcats

The University of New Hampshire announced the addition of Augie Hoelscher to its men’s soccer roster for the upcoming fall season, marking a significant recruitment for the Wildcats.

Hailing from Jackson, Wyoming, Hoelscher spent the last year in Spain, where he developed under Unionistas De Salamanca in the country’s top youth division, recording eight goals and six assists.

Prior to his European stint, the forward honed his craft with Wasatch Soccer Club and the Timbers Academy in the MLS NEXT league, amassing 18 goals and 15 assists while contributing to a Generation Adidas Cup triumph.

Back in the United States, he capped his high school career at Jackson Hole High School with a record‑breaking 34 goals and 25 assists, earning All‑State honors, team MVP recognition and a state championship, while also excelling in alpine skiing, where he placed third in both slalom and giant slalom.

A Fresh Face for the Wildcats

Coach Rich Weinrebe said the program is excited to welcome a player who combines technical skill with the maturity gained from international competition, noting that Hoelscher’s work ethic aligns with the team’s ambitions.

The Wildcats hope the freshman’s versatility and proven scoring ability will bolster their attack as they aim for a strong showing in the upcoming schedule.
