The University of San Francisco announced this week that it has secured the services of Argentine guard Dylan Bordón, a move that adds a seasoned international presence to the Dons' backcourt and signals the program's continued push to recruit top talent from abroad.
Bordón's basketball journey began at an unusually young age, when he made his professional debut at just 15 for Club San Martín de Corrientes in Argentina, immediately drawing attention for his scoring instincts and playmaking ability.
After honing his craft in the Argentine league, he crossed the Atlantic in 2022 to join the development system of Gran Canaria, where he further refined his skills before signing a two‑year deal with La Laguna Tenerife in August 2025, posting a 19.1‑point average in the Liga U22 that season.
His performances earned him a spot on Argentina's senior national team, culminating in a silver medal at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup and a Best Point Guard award from the 2022 FIBA U18 AmeriCup, where he averaged 15.2 points, 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds.
International Experience Meets West Coast Ambition
Coach Chris Gerlufsen praised the addition, highlighting Bordón's competitive edge and ability to elevate the team's tempo, while noting the guard's experience against top‑level competition and his potential to contribute immediately to the Dons' quest for conference contention.
