A historic class of inductees

The University of South Dakota will honor a remarkable group of athletes and contributors in its 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame, with the induction ceremony scheduled for October 9, 2026.

Headlining the class is the 2015‑16 women’s basketball team, which finished the season with a 32‑6 record, went 15‑1 in Summit League play and captured the program’s first-ever Women’s National Invitation Tournament championship.

Nicole Seekamp, the team’s standout guard, earned Summit League Player of the Year in 2016 and was named WNIT MVP, finishing her career with 2,056 points — second in school history and third all‑time nationally.

Also joining the hall are pole‑vaulting sensations Chris Nilsen and Emily Grove; Nilsen, a three‑time NCAA champion and Olympic silver medalist, holds multiple school and DakotaDome records, while Grove amassed six All‑America honors and placed second at the NCAA championships in 2014.

The class further recognizes Greysen Hertting, a record‑setting diver, Brooks Little, the football program’s all‑time reception leader, volleyball great Audrey Reeg, who crossed the 1,000‑kill and 1,000‑dig milestones, and longtime trainer Bruce Fischbach, who will be inducted as a special contributor.

The induction ceremony will bring together alumni, coaches and fans to celebrate these achievements, underscoring the university’s commitment to athletic excellence and lifelong legacy.
