University of Tennessee and Adidas Ink 10-Year Partnership

New deal brings Adidas as official apparel and footwear provider, launches NIL Ambassador Network and unveils orange football uniforms

The University of Tennessee and Adidas announced on Monday a decade-long agreement that designates Adidas as the official footwear, uniform, apparel and sideline partner for Tennessee athletics. The deal, which took effect on July 1, also introduces the university’s student-athletes to Adidas’ NIL Ambassador Network, giving them a platform to monetize their name, image and likeness.

Photos of the new orange-trimmed football uniforms, released by the school, showcase the fresh aesthetic that will debut on the gridiron this fall. The partnership marks the return of a relationship that first began in 1995 and ended in June 2015, a reunion that both parties have been eager to celebrate.

Reviving a Legacy

Chris McGuire, Adidas vice president of sports marketing for North America, said he is excited to relaunch the collaboration, noting that the new uniform designs reflect a modern take on the Volunteers’ tradition. He added that the partnership will help showcase Adidas’ commitment to collegiate sport at the highest level.

Danny White, Tennessee’s vice chancellor and director of athletics, emphasized that the alliance aligns with the university’s ambition to build a premier athletics department. He highlighted that every student-athlete across the school’s 20 varsity sports will be eligible to join the NIL Ambassador Network, providing new avenues for personal brand development.

Industry observers expect the deal to raise the competitive profile of Tennessee’s programs, from football to basketball, while reinforcing Adidas’ presence in the Southeast. The orange uniforms, now visible in promotional material, signal a bold visual identity that could become a staple of Volunteers game day.
