UNM Unveils New Stadium East Parking Procedures for 2026 Football Season

Revised tailgate lot opening times, reserved spaces, and exclusive MW+ broadcast details aim to enhance fan experience while managing demand.

Revised Stadium East Parking Procedures

University of New Mexico officials have unveiled a comprehensive overhaul of the Stadium East tailgate lot for the upcoming 2026 football season, targeting greater parking capacity, smoother traffic flow and heightened safety for fans and staff.

The lot will now open its gates at 6:00 a.m. on game days, giving supporters the chance to claim a spot early; parking remains on a first‑come, first‑served basis and carries a fee of $15 plus tax per vehicle.

Through the Lobo Club, fans can purchase reserved tailgate spaces, with a season package priced at $500 or a per‑game rate of $100, though the number of spots set aside for reservation is limited.

Event staff will guide cars to designated areas, starting at the north end and filling each row in sequence, while encouraging head‑in parking to reduce the risk of accidents.

Hold‑or‑save requests are prohibited, and any recreational vehicles or trailers must be parked in the adjacent Pit West gravel lot unless the driver holds a reserved tailgate pass.

The student‑focused tailgate zone stays at the south end of the lot, accessible only to those presenting a valid UNM student identification.

Exclusive Broadcast on MW+

The season’s opening game on September 12 against Mercyhurst will be streamed exclusively on MW+, the Mountain West’s new digital subscription service, which also offers live broadcasts, on‑demand content, podcasts and coaches’ shows, with a 20 percent discount available for early sign‑ups through August 31.

These changes are intended to balance the growing demand for tailgate space with the need to keep the experience enjoyable and safe for the entire Lobo community.
