The Unrivaled women's 3-on-3 basketball league announced a $650 million valuation following a Series C funding round that brought in more than $100 million from a consortium of investors, among them Ten Pillar Sports Fund and UC Investments. The infusion of capital nearly doubles the league’s previous valuation and underscores growing confidence in the professional prospects of women's basketball.
Central to the deal is a player equity pool now valued at almost $200 million, a 550 percent increase since the league’s inception. Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell remarked that the Series C funding exceeds the total of all prior rounds combined, highlighting the scale of the investment.
A Strategic Leap Forward
With the new resources, Unrivaled plans to expand its schedule to eight tour stops by 2027 and launch its third season in early January. The league has secured a six‑year media rights agreement with TNT, aiming to broaden its audience while building on sold‑out events in New York and Philadelphia from the previous year.
League co‑founder Breanna Stewart emphasized that the funding reflects a collective belief in the league’s ability to shape the future of women's basketball, providing greater resources for players and deeper fan engagement. Despite lower ratings in the prior season due to competition from the Milan Cortina Olympics and the College Football Playoff, the organization remains optimistic about its growth trajectory.
