UNT's men's basketball program announced the appointment of Eduardo Fernandez as its new Director of Operations, a move that underscores the team's commitment to strengthening its administrative backbone.
A Strategic Addition to the Coaching Staff
In his new role, Fernandez will oversee team travel, academic success initiatives, budget management and the day‑to‑day schedule, serving as the primary liaison between the program and the athletic administration and campus.
He joins the Mean Green after a stint as Director of Basketball Operations at Northern Illinois, where he worked under head coach Rashon Burno, and brings NBA front‑office experience from the Washington Wizards.
During his time with the Wizards, Fernandez contributed to player development, scouting and logistics, helping the franchise streamline its basketball operations.
A 2022 graduate of UTEP, Fernandez also served as a graduate assistant and undergraduate student manager at the university, giving him deep ties to the region.
