The Cold Weather Baseball Coaches Alliance has unveiled its Upper Peninsula Dream Team, a roster that celebrates the region’s top talent from the 2026 season.
Owen Baij of Iron Mountain was named Player of the Year in Division 4, while Lennox Peacock earned the same honor in Division 1‑3, highlighting the depth of talent across the peninsula.
Division Honors and Coaching Excellence
In Division 4, co‑assistant coaches Bob Amundson, Brett Baij and Randy VanGasse shared the Assistant Coach of the Year award, and Joe Romano of Painesdale‑Jeffers was crowned Coach of the Year.
Escanaba’s Scott Hansen received the Division 1‑3 Coach of the Year accolade, and co‑assistant coaches Nels Paul and Alex Putnam were recognized in that division as well.
The Dream Team lineup also features players from a variety of schools, including Escanaba, Negaunee, Painesdale‑Jeffers, Hancock, Gogebic and Pickford, reflecting the collaborative spirit of Upper Peninsula baseball.
Additional standouts such as Cameron Varda, Jack Kriegl, Trenton Kramer, Jason Graham, Logan Grondin, Elliott Kraemer, Carter Cazzola, Tobi Anderson, Hunter Langin, Luke Grunlund, Kaden Malone, Connor Pickett, Jonah Doenier, Mikaiden Hughes, Owen Cardinal, Tristan Slater, Brogan Turner, Ben Karanen, CJay Wainio and Carter Rye round out the first‑ and second‑team selections.
The recognition extends beyond individual awards, underscoring the league’s commitment to developing talent and honoring the coaches who guide these young athletes.
