A Tradition Renewed
The Lions Twin State Soccer Cup returns this weekend, bringing together the best senior talent from New Hampshire and Vermont on the fields of Hanover High School.
The day will feature two matches — a boys' contest kicking off at 1 p.m. followed by the girls' game at 4 p.m. — each offering a chance for the Upper Valley’s rising stars to showcase their skills.
Admission is set at $5, a modest fee that grants fans access to both contests, with all proceeds earmarked for the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation of New Hampshire and the Green Mountain Lions Camp.
Last year the New Hampshire squads swept Vermont, taking a 3‑1 victory in the girls’ division and a 2‑1 win in the boys’ matchup, extending the state’s all‑time lead in the series.
Charity in Focus
The proceeds from ticket sales will directly support the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation of New Hampshire and the Green Mountain Lions Camp, organizations that provide essential vision and hearing services to communities across the region.
Key Players to Watch
For New Hampshire, Nehemiah Billings, Addison Derosier and Maezie Angles will represent the Upper Valley on the boys’ and girls’ teams, while Tim St. Pierre serves as head coach of the girls’ side. Vermont’s girls’ squad will be anchored by Natalee Spear, Kenzie Wescott, Gabby Crane and Harper Traendly, with longtime coaches Wendy Moody and Jen Rupp sharing head‑coach duties.
