A New Chapter for Youth Talent
US Club Soccer has unveiled the rosters for the 2026 id2 National Selection International Tour, a showcase that brings together the nation’s most promising 2012‑born athletes. The announcement marks the culmination of a multi‑stage progression designed to identify and develop players who can compete on the global stage.
The selection process was extensive, involving the scouting of more than 12,000 participants across the United States. Since the summer of 2025, a network of regional and national events narrowed the field, culminating in two intensive camps — one in Chula Vista, California, and another in Fairfax, Virginia — where the final 36 players earned their spots.
In February, over 200 prospects gathered in Chula Vista for a week‑long camp that emphasized technical development and tactical awareness. A subsequent camp in Fairfax further refined the pool, reducing it to the final group that will embark on the international leg of the tour.
From Domestic Camp to Overseas Experience
Before departing for England, the selected athletes will attend a two‑day domestic camp at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center near Atlanta, Georgia. This gathering serves as a final preparation phase, allowing players and staff to bond and fine‑tune their strategies ahead of the overseas segment.
The tour itself runs from August 13 to August 23, 2026, and will be based primarily in London for the girls’ squad. The boys will split their time between London and Liverpool, giving them exposure to two distinct football cultures within the United Kingdom.
Beyond the matches, the experience offers a unique educational component, immersing participants in different playing styles, academic environments, and community outreach programs. Organizers believe this blend of competition and cultural exchange will accelerate the players’ growth both on and off the pitch.
Looking Ahead
The 2026 id2 International Tour represents more than a single trip; it is a stepping stone in a longer pathway that US Club Soccer envisions for its elite prospects. As the organization continues to expand its scouting reach and deepen its development programs, future editions of the tour are expected to feature even broader participation and richer experiences for the next generation of American talent.
