USA Hockey is set to run eleven consecutive days of elite camps from July 13 through July 24 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, drawing the nation’s most promising girls’ hockey talent.
Camp Overview
The camps are divided into three age brackets — U‑19, U‑16/17 and U‑15 — and are designed to give participants a chance to display their abilities before national selectors.
U‑19 players will battle a Canadian squad in August for a coveted spot on the USA Collegiate Select team, while the younger cohorts aim to earn places on the 24‑player U‑18 National Team Festival roster in Lake Placid, New York.
Among the standout athletes are several members of the recent U‑18 World Championship gold‑medal squad, including forward Jane Daley, who was named Best Forward and leading scorer, and goaltenders Morgan Stickney and Bianca Birrittieri.
Defensive standouts such as Maggie Averill and Sloane Hartmetz are headed to NCAA programs this fall, while alternate captains Kylie Amelkovich and Maddy Kimbrel bring leadership experience from last season’s championship run.
Five 2010‑born players — Cassidy Cha, Callie McCullough, Alexis Ulrich, Frances Ames and Amelia Sutch — have received automatic invitations to the Lake Placid festival, underscoring the depth of talent in the 2009 and 2010 birth years.
The U‑15 camp will host more than 200 players born in 2011, and the U‑16/17 camp will gather roughly 170 athletes from the 2009 and 2010 cohorts, featuring notable names like Bria Schilling, Mackenna Schlieman, Josie Virnig and many others.
With a blend of seasoned internationals and emerging prospects, the camps provide a critical platform for these young athletes to launch the next chapter of their hockey careers.
