Tony Boselli: A Trojan Icon
USC is gearing up for the opening of its 2026 football season, slated for August 29 against San Jose State, kicking off a countdown series that spotlights Trojans who have left a mark on the program by the number they wore.
Among those celebrated is Tony Boselli, a Hall of Fame offensive lineman who anchored the Trojans’ line from 1991 through 1994. During his collegiate career he earned two first‑team All‑American selections and three first‑team All‑Pac‑10 honors, capped by the 1994 Morris Trophy as the conference’s top lineman.
The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Boselli with the second overall pick in 1995, and he went on to a seven‑year NFL career that featured five Pro Bowl appearances and three first‑team All‑Pro recognitions. His achievements earned him induction into both the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022, after which he returned to the league as the Jaguars’ executive vice president of football operations.
The upcoming series not only honors individual excellence but also underscores USC’s enduring impact on the sport, linking past legends with the next generation of Trojans as they prepare to open the season against San Jose State.
