From May 29 through May 31, the University of Southern California welcomed twelve members of its incoming 2027 recruiting class for a three‑day visit, giving them a chance to experience campus life, meet the coaching staff and connect with future teammates.
A Strategic Commitment
Among those prospects, four‑star cornerback Aaryn Washington put an exclamation point on the weekend by announcing his commitment to the Trojans in January, effectively closing the door on any further recruitment.
Washington, who also excels on the track, brings a rare blend of size, speed and football IQ. He honed his craft at Mater Dei in California before spending his senior year at IMG Academy in Florida, where he has been praised for his ability to lock down man coverage and drop into zone when needed.
Coaches have highlighted his capacity to close distance in an instant, a trait that could translate into immediate impact on the defensive side of the ball. His versatility makes him a valuable piece in a secondary that is already among the nation’s most promising.
The commitment helps USC maintain a No. 10 national ranking for its 2027 class, which now comprises thirteen pledges, nine of whom are in‑state talent. The Trojans also capped off the 2026 cycle by signing 35 recruits, a group that sits atop the rankings by both 247Sports and On3/Rivals.
Washington's pledge underscores the Trojans’ ability to attract top‑tier talent even as the recruiting landscape becomes increasingly competitive, a trend that could shape the program’s fortunes on the field for years to come.
