The sun rose over the Pacific on Wednesday morning as the USC Trojans gathered on the sand of Hermosa Beach for a community workout that drew a crowd of eager fans.
A Taste of Fall Training
Players took to the shoreline to run drills, toss a football and engage in a spirited game of dodgeball, turning the beach into an impromptu training ground.
The event, which is open to the public at no cost, gave supporters a rare chance to watch the squad’s offseason conditioning and to snap photos and collect signatures from the athletes.
Coach Lincoln Riley and several senior players will soon trade the coastline for the Windy City, where they are slated to represent USC at the Big Ten Media Days next week.
Joining Riley in Chicago will be quarterback Jayden Maiava, defensive linemen Alex VanSumeren and Jide Abasiri, who will field questions from reporters and promote the upcoming season.
The beach day marks one of the final offseason gatherings before the team reconvenes for preseason camp, underscoring the program’s commitment to fan engagement as it prepares for a new competitive landscape.
