Postseason Accolades
The Big South Conference unveiled its 2026 postseason awards for baseball, spotlighting the standout contributions of several USC Upstate players.
Tyler Lang earned a Second Team All‑Big South nod and was also selected to the league’s All‑Academic Team, underscoring his dual excellence on the field and in the classroom.
Johnny Sweeney, another second‑team selection, posted a .258 batting average with a .434 on‑base rate and a .506 slugging percentage, tallying 43 runs, 46 hits, 11 home runs and 50 RBI.
Henry Zenor joined Lang on the second team after a season that saw him hit .344 with 56 hits, 14 doubles, six home runs and 47 RBI, while also driving in 47 runs.
Wylie Waters received Honorable Mention honors after a .316 average, .531 slugging percentage and nine home runs, contributing 32 runs and 40 RBI.
Freshman Trey Bentley was recognized on the All‑Freshman Team, having compiled a .275 average, 12 doubles, six home runs and 29 RBI while scoring 43 runs.
Together, these accolades reflect a program that has steadily climbed in competitiveness, positioning the Spartans for continued success in upcoming seasons.
