New Faces on the Sidelines
The University of South Florida women's soccer program announced the addition of two assistant coaches, Steve Golas and Jennifer Wandt, as it looks ahead to the 2026 season. Both hires are expected to play a pivotal role as the Bulls open their campaign in August.
Steve Golas arrives after a distinguished tenure at the University of Kentucky, where he served as an assistant coach from 2022 through the most recent season. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Golas has amassed a wealth of experience, including six appearances in the NCAA tournament and contributions that helped multiple programs reach postseason play, notably at the University of Wisconsin‑Milwaukee.
His background includes stints at several institutions, where he has been instrumental in developing defensive strategies and player development. Golas's extensive résumé positions him as a key architect of the Bulls' tactical framework as the team prepares for a competitive schedule.
A Goalkeeping Specialist with International Experience
Jennifer Wandt brings a blend of playing and coaching expertise to the staff. After a professional stint with Swedish club Trelleborgs FF, Wandt previously contributed to Marquette University as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in 2025, and before that she served as an assistant and goalkeeper coach at Indiana University in 2024. Her collegiate career shone at Baylor University, where she earned recognition as a standout goalkeeper.
Wandt's international playing experience and her work in recruitment are expected to enrich the Bulls' roster building efforts, while her goalkeeping insight will aid in shaping the team's defensive dynamics.
The Bulls are slated to begin the 2026 season in August, a timeline that aligns with the new staff's integration period. Head coach will rely on Golas and Wandt to fine‑tune strategies and develop players ahead of the first match.
