The University of Southern Indiana announced this week that it has expanded its men's basketball coaching staff with the addition of three experienced assistants for the 2026‑27 season.

Bringing conference pedigree and fresh talent

Stefan King arrives after a stint at Tennessee Tech, where he served as an assistant coach and director of operations and helped the team secure a berth in the Ohio Valley Conference championship game in 2023. Under his guidance, the Golden Eagles ranked first in the league for made three‑pointers and third in three‑point percentage during the 2022‑23 campaign.

Doug Novsek returns to the program after coaching at Mt. Vernon High School and earlier roles at Eastern Illinois University and the University of Idaho. His career includes leading the University of Evansville to the Missouri Valley Tournament championship game and guiding the University of Nevada to three Western Athletic Conference regular‑season titles.

Graduate assistant Dylan Ingram, a recent graduate of the University of Indianapolis, earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the Year honors at Maryville University before transferring to the Saints. He compiled a 7.9‑point average over two seasons at Indianapolis and a 5.0‑point average during his earlier collegiate years, earning a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2025.

The new staff members tie the program to a network of institutions that spans Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Idaho and Nevada, linking the university to partners such as the Ohio Valley Conference, Tennessee Tech and several other regional universities.
