The USMC Sports Leadership Academy is set to host a free football camp on June 27 at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida, opening its doors to young athletes aged 14 to 19.
Leadership on the Field
The event blends intensive football drills with Marine Corps leadership principles, emphasizing accountability, teamwork and personal growth, creating an environment that extends beyond the field.
Elite coaches and military instructors will lead the sessions, including Noah Senka from the University of Central Florida, who brings both collegiate playing experience and a commitment to mentorship.
Since its inception in 2017, the academy has conducted over 300 clinics across six high school sports, with roughly 180 participants attending each clinic in 2025, reflecting a growing demand for integrated sports and leadership training.
Unique Marine Corps challenges are woven into the curriculum, designed to foster character development and collaborative problem‑solving, while an awards presentation at the end honors the top seven performers with All‑Academy medals.
The camp also features the USMC Sports Leadership Academy Team Challenge, a competition that can result in a monetary donation for the attending program with the highest number of participants, adding a community‑focused incentive.
Beyond football, the academy runs clinics in five other sports — wrestling, lacrosse, soccer, basketball and volleyball — with 24 events scheduled across the eastern United States this year, each integrating military leaders into the coaching process.
Organizers say the long‑term impact is evident as alumni apply the leadership skills they acquire to their teams and communities, reinforcing a culture of responsibility and work ethic that stretches far beyond the game.
