Mavericks Unveil Inaugural Flag Football Coaching Staff

Head coach Melinda Nguyen announced the program’s inaugural coaching roster this week, marking the start of a new era for the Mavericks’ flag football team as they prepare for competition.

Jermaine Conrad, a veteran with more than 18 years of coaching experience and a 20‑year career in the United States Navy, will serve as an assistant coach. He previously led H.E.R. Flag Football in Haltom City, Texas, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports management at Southern New Hampshire University.

Marlee Marquez brings a blend of on‑field and off‑field expertise, having coached at Flag Star Football in the Washington, D.C., area and represented athletes as a sports agent. She was a key member of the U.S. squad that captured gold at the 2023 IFAF Americas Continental Championship and holds a master’s in sports industry management from Georgetown University.

Alexandra Mansur, a recent graduate with a degree in sports management and a 4.0 GPA from Florida State University, joins as a graduate assistant. She previously served as defensive coordinator at Kansas Wesleyan University, earned KCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024, and is now working toward an MBA after being named team captain of the women’s flag football squad.
