MVP Bosten Steacie leads a night of awards, commitments and historic reflection

A Night of Stars at Lindquist Field

The 82nd annual Utah High School Baseball All-Star Games unfolded under the lights of Lindquist Field in Ogden, drawing a crowd of coaches, families and scouts eager to see the state’s top senior talent.

The senior game saw Bosten Steacie of Box Elder crowned MVP after a standout performance that included a 4.43 ERA over his high school season and a commitment to the College of Southern Idaho.

Defensive excellence was recognized when Xavier Aldous of Ogden earned the Defensive Player of the Game award, capping a high school career that will continue at St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, Michigan.

The visiting squad, guided by Timpview coach Russ Frame, edged the home team led by Juan Diego coach Robby Jacobson by a 5-2 margin, a result that highlighted the depth of competition across Utah’s high school programs.

Among the standout athletes, Teagan Adams from Westlake captured the Offensive Player of the Game honor, while Cole Engemann from Timpview received the Coach’s Award, underscoring the breadth of talent on display.

The roster also featured Rodrigo Torres, Jackson Pearce, Kaleb Weaver, Kyle Bubak and Donald Hawe, each of whom contributed to the competitive spirit of the event.

Dallen Rice of Bear River, heading to Valley City State University in North Dakota to continue his baseball journey, reflected on the end of his high school chapter and the excitement of the next stage.

The evening also paid tribute to the tradition of Utah baseball, noting that the first-ever Utah All-Star Game was played in 1944, a year when the sport persisted amid the pressures of conscription.

As the final outs were recorded, the players and coaches exchanged handshakes, aware that the night marked not only a celebration of current achievement but also a launchpad for the next generation of collegiate and professional prospects.
