The 2026 Standard-Examiner All-Area Baseball Second Team showcases the elite talent emerging from high schools across the Wasatch Front, recognizing players who have distinguished themselves through pitching dominance, hitting precision, and versatile fieldwork.
Pitching Dominance
Leading the rotation, Boston Steacie of Box Elder posted a 4.43 ERA while fanning 72 batters, a performance that underscored his senior-year reliability on the mound. Complementing him, Brodie Deal from Clearfield logged a 6.71 ERA and recorded 32 strikeouts, illustrating the depth of talent among the region’s pitchers.
Offensive Firepower
At the plate, Dallin Bevan of Bear River emerged as a junior powerhouse, batting .400 and delivering 32 hits, while Will Nixon of Davis maintained a .500 average with 26 RBIs, highlighting the offensive firepower that helped shape the team’s outlook. Other standout contributors include Kaleb Weaver of Davis, who hit .360 with six home runs, and Adam Mikesell from Fremont, who posted a .430 average and added 11 doubles. Brady Penland of West Field stole 21 bases, and Burkon Beus of Layton combined a .365 average with 22 stolen bases, rounding out a dynamic lineup.

Defensively, Ashur Clark of Fremont excelled as a sophomore catcher, batting .399 and driving in 31 runs, while Korbin Jeppesen of Box Elder posted a .340 average and a .988 fielding percentage, underscoring the team’s well‑rounded excellence.
