Utah Valley University’s women’s soccer program entered its first Big West season with a preseason ranking that reflects both promise and expectation.
The Wolverines earned 95 points in the 2026 Big West Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll, placing fourth behind Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara, each of which garnered 100 points, while the team also collected two first‑place votes.
That positioning follows a breakout 2025 campaign in which Utah Valley posted a 14‑5‑3 record, went unbeaten in Western Athletic Conference play at 9‑0‑1, captured the WAC regular‑season title and secured an at‑large berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Key contributors Mia Owens and Josie Clawson were recognized on the preseason all‑conference team, with Owens, a senior defender, having earned WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2025 and multiple All‑WAC selections, while Clawson, a redshirt junior midfielder, added Second Team All‑WAC accolades after a strong debut season.
