The University of Utah women's soccer team is set to open its 2026 campaign on the road, traveling to Orem, Utah, to meet the Utah Valley Wolverines on August 17 at UCCU Stadium.
It will mark the fourth consecutive season the two programs have met, a rivalry that has seen Utah hold a 7‑2‑1 edge, and the Utes hope to build on a season‑opening clean sheet that they recorded against Weber State.
Goalkeeper Anna Solomon was instrumental in that shutout, making two key saves, and her performance continues a streak of undefeated season‑openers under head coach Hideki Nakada.
Road to the NCAA Tournament
The Utes’ schedule includes 19 matches, eight of which will be played at home in Salt Lake City, highlighted by a Big 12 showdown at Arizona State on September 18. The conference preseason poll placed Utah 11th, with TCU favored to lead the league for a second straight year.
Coach Emma Greenwood, who previously guided Cal Poly Pomona and Legends FC‑San Diego, has joined the staff, bringing fresh ideas as the team eyes its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance, a goal that has eluded the program since its 2016 Sweet 16 run.
Utah has also seen several alumni carve out professional careers, from Courtney Brown with the Utah Royals to Katie O’Kane at Racing Louisville, Ali Swensen with the Utah Royals, and Kelly Bullock now playing for Valadares Gaia FC in Portugal.
