The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) football team will be heard across the Valley this season, with every game broadcast in English on Ultra 90.1 FM and Pure Country 95.7 FM. Both stations will carry a half‑hour of pregame analysis before kickoff, giving listeners a full preview of the action.
English radio reaches the Valley
Ultra 90.1 FM, a 100,000‑watt adult contemporary station, blankets the Valley from La Grulla to South Padre Island, while Pure Country 95.7 FM delivers a 100,000‑watt country format across Laredo, Nuevo Laredo and surrounding regions. Their combined reach ensures that fans throughout the Rio Grande Valley and northern Mexico can follow the team wherever they are.
Joe Bowling and Jonathan Medina will serve as the English radio announcers for the second season, bringing play‑by‑play and expert insight to the broadcast booth.
Spanish‑language broadcasts expand
Spanish‑language fans can tune in to KYWW 1530 AM Puro Tejano and KGBT‑FM 98.5 La Preferida, stations that together form part of the Latino Media Network. The broadcasts will be anchored by veteran voices Pedro Leija and Nicolás Quintero, who return for their second season of covering the team.
KYWW transmits with 50,000 watts of Tejano music, while KGBT‑FM operates at 100,000 watts, providing a strong signal that reaches both the Valley and parts of northern Mexico.
Streaming on ESPN+
All UTRGV home games, Southland Conference contests and two non‑conference road games will be available to watch on ESPN+. In August 2025 the platform extended its media‑rights agreement for six years, guaranteeing extensive coverage on its digital service.
Mark May, Aaron Saenz and Jaeda Rael return as the ESPN+ broadcast crew for their second season, joining the radio teams to bring comprehensive coverage to viewers across the region.
