The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley women's basketball team is currently in the second week of its summer workout regimen, a period coaches use to build chemistry and fine‑tune fundamentals before the official season begins.
Adding to the excitement, the program announced the signing of two local prospects: Trinity Bane, a recent graduate of PSJA North, and Jesslynn Jalomo, a junior from Laredo who transferred from Nicholls State.
Bane, who previously battled injuries while playing in New Orleans, is eager to return to the Valley and contribute immediately, particularly on the defensive end where she hopes to tighten the team's perimeter pressure.
Jalomo brings a blend of experience and versatility, having spent the last season with Nicholls and now looking to make an impact in her first year with UTRGV.

Men's Squad Welcomes Trio of Transfers
On the men's side, the team has secured three transfers from Tyler Junior College, among them Chris Uwayo, who previously played under Marquis at the Texas junior‑college powerhouse.
