Head Coach Pat Hallmark, who has guided the team through a remarkable turnaround, said the schedule offers a chance to test the squad against some of the nation’s best early in the year. “We’re excited to face quality opponents and see where we stand,” Hallmark remarked, highlighting the program’s growing confidence.
Roadrunners Prepare for a New Chapter
The excitement surrounding the 2027 series reflects more than just a schedule slot; it signals a new chapter for UTSA baseball. With a core group of players returning and fresh talent joining the roster, the program is poised to build on its recent successes and aim for deeper postseason runs.
UTSA’s recent achievements underscore the significance of the invitation. In 2025 the Roadrunners captured their first Super Regional appearance, toppling No. 2 Texas in Austin, and followed it with a second straight American Conference regular‑season championship in 2026. The team finished that campaign at 38‑20 overall, posting a 21‑7 record at home.
The upcoming series will also feature familiar rivals. UTSA and UT Arlington have met ten times over the past three years, and both Washington State and Tarleton State earned NCAA Regional berths in 2026. In the 2026 Cleburne leg, Texas State emerged champion, suggesting a competitive field.
Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, June 26 at 9 a.m. CT, with home‑plate reserved seats available first. General admission and single‑game tickets will be released later this fall once the full tournament schedule is announced, giving fans ample opportunity to attend the action in person.
