UTSA announced that running back Will Henderson III and kicker Michael Petro have been named to the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Preseason All‑Texas College Second Team, a recognition that underscores their contributions during the 2025 season.
Henderson’s breakout campaign
Henderson rushed for 866 yards and six touchdowns, averaged 6.9 yards per carry and added 19 receptions for 132 yards and two scores. He logged three 100‑yard games, highlighted by a 185‑yard effort against Charlotte and a 146‑yard performance at home versus East Carolina. His first career 100‑yard game came against Rice, where he amassed 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Petro’s steady foot
Kicker Michael Petro converted 17 of 20 field‑goal attempts and was perfect on 56 extra‑point tries, contributing a team‑high 107 points. He nailed a 45‑yard field goal and set a program record with eight PATs in a game against Rice, and he closed the season on a six‑game streak that included makes from 37 and 36 yards in the First Responder Bowl.
Opening the 16th season
The Roadrunners will begin their 16th year of football on Saturday, September 5, when they host UTRGV at the Alamodome. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff and forms part of a slate that includes home matchups against Colorado State, South Florida, Navy, North Texas and Tulsa, as well as road contests at Texas State, Texas, Rice, Tulane, Florida Atlantic and UAB.
