University of Vermont announced today that Ryan Weise has been appointed assistant coach for the Catamounts' women's basketball program, reuniting him with head coach Maureen Magarity, under whom he previously served at the College of the Holy Cross.
Weise brings a distinguished playing career that includes record‑setting performances at East Stroudsburg University, where he set program marks for three‑point percentage and free‑throw accuracy, and a stint as team captain at Long Island University, leading the team to two NEC honors.
His coaching résumé features a season as an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania during the 2025‑26 campaign, a role that followed his recent contribution to the Crusaders' 2023‑24 Patriot League Tournament and regular‑season championships, and an internship with the women's basketball program at East Stroudsburg University.
Weise also participated in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "So You Want To Be A Coach" initiative in 2023, a program designed to develop emerging talent, and he earned multiple academic accolades, graduating with a Bachelor of Science from LIU and a Master of Science from East Stroudsburg.
