Val Majewski Morrison to be Inducted into Metropolitan Erie Sports Hall of Fame

Former General McLane star celebrated for basketball, volleyball and track achievements

Val Majewski Morrison, a 2011 graduate of General McLane High School, is set to be inducted this June into the Metropolitan Erie Sports Hall of Fame, honoring her outstanding contributions to basketball, volleyball and track and field.

Her basketball legacy is anchored by a 1,800‑point career, the most in General McLane history, a testament to her scoring prowess and consistency on the court.

During her time at Edinboro University she earned All‑America recognition and helped the women’s team capture a league‑leading 16‑point average in the 2013‑14 season, while ranking among the program’s top shooters in three‑point percentage and total threes.

Morrison also contributed to two District 10 basketball tournament titles as a freshman and sophomore and was named Region 6’s Player of the Year for her junior and senior seasons.

The ceremony will be held on June 24 at the Zem Zem Shrine Club, where she will be celebrated alongside other regional sports legends.
