A Weekend of Dominant Performances
Valley East Little League opened the weekend with a 16‑1 triumph over Hazleton, a game that featured Charlie Rostocki and Owen Krouse combining for a one‑hitter that included eight strikeouts. Bo Shafer contributed three hits, falling just one home run short of the cycle, while Connor O’Donnel added a triple, a single and drove in three runs.
Marco Fendrick launched a home run and Julian Grekevich recorded a single and a double, underscoring the offensive firepower on display.

Kingston/Forty Fort routed Harveys Lake 21‑3 behind a one‑hitter from Ethan Puello and Milo Singh, who tallied seven strikeouts. GPA followed with a 13‑2 victory over Plains, where Jonah Ferranti collected three hits and Connor Yonki added a triple.
Back Mountain posted a 26‑0 shutout of Swoyersville, with Andrew Hetro and Grayson Grega sharing pitching duties, while Mountain Top edged Mountain Top 17‑2, highlighted by two‑hit performances from Livio Seiwell and Tyler Mowery.
Softball Action and Upcoming Championship
In Section 5 Major Softball, Pittston defeated Mountain Top 5‑3, a win that propelled the team into the championship round. Andrea Colon earned the victory with nine strikeouts in six innings, rounding out a weekend of standout outings by players such as Sadie Bomber, Hannah Beekman, Ava Basile, Celeste Fediw, Emily Wenner and many others.
The breadth of talent was evident as players such as Brody Issacson, Luca Pocceschi, Gideon, Beau Spinelli, Junior Santarelli, Hudson Kayrish, Grayson Lauri, Benjamin Florek, Kenny Sepulveda, and several others added their names to the scoreboards across the various divisions.
