Vanderbilt reveals 2026-27 men's basketball schedule
Vanderbilt University has unveiled its full slate for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season, a schedule that weaves together a rigorous mix of home and away contests against some of the SEC’s most storied programs.
The Commodores will enjoy a substantial home‑court advantage, hosting Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina and Texas A&M on their familiar Nashville floor, while the remainder of the conference slate will take them on the road.
Conversely, Vanderbilt will travel to face Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and Oklahoma, testing the team against a variety of playing styles and environments.
Head coach Mark Byington, who has guided the team to back‑to‑back NCAA Tournament appearances, says the schedule is a deliberate step toward the program’s ultimate goal of a Final Four run and, ultimately, a national championship.
Point guard Tyler Tanner, the team’s emerging star, has elected to forgo the NBA Draft and return for his junior year, bringing continuity and leadership to a roster that blends experience with fresh talent.
The offseason brought a wave of new transfers, including center Bangot Dak, forward Berke Buyuktuncel, guard Ace Glass, forward Sebastian Williams‑Adams and guard T.O. Barrett, each of whom adds depth and versatility to the Commodores’ lineup.
With the new roster in place and a schedule that pits them against elite competition, Vanderbilt’s ambitions are clear: to translate early‑season momentum into a deep tournament run and, perhaps, a championship.
