Vanderbilt reveals 2026‑27 non‑conference slate
Vanderbilt University announced its full non‑conference schedule for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season, laying out a slate that blends home matchups, road tests and exhibition contests.
The Commodores will open the year with three exhibition games, taking on Virginia on September 27, UAB on October 19 and Miami on October 23, before moving into the regular season.
A demanding pre‑SEC slate
Home games include a November 2 clash with Bellarmine, a November 5 showdown against Wake Forest, and later contests versus Memphis, Prairie View A&M, Eastern Illinois, UCF, West Georgia, Southern Indiana, Milwaukee and Alcorn State through December.
On the road, Vanderbilt will travel to face Ohio State on November 24 and California on December 6, rounding out a schedule that features five opponents from power conferences.
The team is aiming to repeat its sweep of last season’s foes Wake Forest, Memphis and UCF, building on a 27‑9 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance the previous year.
Coach staff emphasized that the non‑conference slate is designed to sharpen the Commodores before they enter SEC play, where they finished as runners‑up in the 2026 SEC Tournament.
The upcoming season promises a rigorous test of depth and resilience, as Vanderbilt looks to translate its strong finish into a competitive run in the SEC.
